Pierce Community College standout Beau Sandland (6-6/250) is one of the top JUCO tight ends in the country. He recently traveled to the University of Miami (Nov. 30-Dec. 2) for an official visit that went “great.” Shortly after being back home in Woodland Hills, Calif., he decided to eliminate two colleges from his top five.
“I have narrowed it down to three earlier than I expected, Arizona State, Nebraska and Miami,” Sandland said. “Therefore, I will not take my official visit to Texas Tech as I had planned for this weekend.”
This leaves Sandland with two weeks before JUCO National Signing Day to visit his last three remaining schools with his mother.
“She’s been with me through the recruiting process,” Sandland said. “It’s been me and her and I want her to be comfortable and be on board with whatever I want to do and I want her to see what I see. I want her to get the questions she has answered and to see how she feels about these schools because I value her opinion. She would like for me to be close to home like any mother, but either way she would support me 100 percent. Education and the academic side of it is important. The coaching staff is important to her. She wants me to go where I’m most comfortable and be the most successful. She wants me to go somewhere I can go make an impact and take care of me.”
After a successful visit from Miami coaches Jedd Fisch and Brennan Carroll last week, Sandland is expecting a visit from head coach Al Golden before signing day.
