Kevin Olsen Under Armour All-America Practice Report: Day 1
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.—Miami commitment Kevin Olsen is one of two future Hurricanes participating in the 2013 Under Armour All-America game taking play this Friday at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla at 5 p.m. ET. He has been showcased in events such as the Elite 11 quarterback competition, but this will be the biggest platform he will be performing on thus far in his early career.
To start off the week, Olsen showed why he is such a highly touted recruit. Along with his 6-foot-3, 190-pound prototypical size, there are a lot attributes to like about the Wayne Hills, N.J. product after an afternoon of watching practice. He threw nice, tight spirals and accurate passes. He also displayed a strong arm, evident by completions to the deep out. One of those passes to tight end Hunter Henry was just flat out impressive.
Timing and decision making are two of the most important aspect of QB’s game, and Olsen has them. He hit many of his receivers perfectly in stride displaying his refinement at the position. As a coach’s son, he as great mechanics and football IQ.
Practice and coverage will continue Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
