Could Miami Sneak In and Steal Louisiana Stud Linebacker

The roller coaster ride of recruiting will leave most fans nauseous by the end of the cycle. With every commitment there is a kid missed, with every missed kid a new name pops up. CaneInsider.com has learned through sources that Miami’s search for linebackers has brought up Warren Easton star (New Orleans, La.) Edward Williams.

The former Texas A&M commitment narrowed down his list this week to Tulane and Texas Tech. That was prior to Miami reaching out to him Tuesday evening with hopes of swaying the linebacker prospect to sign with the Hurricanes on Wednesday.

Williams, 6-foot-2 and 230-pounds, is an explosive, downhill linebacker that plays the game with passion. He’s considered to be one of the top linebackers in Louisiana and would be considered a steal for Miami this late in the game. With only hours remaining before most prospects put the ink to paper, the Hurricanes coaches hope to make a big enough impact to swing the pendulum over in their corner.

He was committed to Texas A&M for a long time–the school that beat Alabama. He’s a stud, I wouldn’t steer you wrong.
