Game Summary: Clemson over Georgia Tech 47-31

The Clemson Tigers defended ‘Death Valley’ against a team in Georgia Tech that could not afford to lose.  Quarterback Tajh Boyd threw for a career high 397 yards and two touchdowns as the Tigers held off Georgia Tech 47-31.

Clemson wide out, DeAndre Hopkins had 173 yards receiving to lead No. 15 Clemson (5-1, 2-1) past the visiting Yellow Jackets (2-4, 1-3). The teams combined for nearly 1,100 yards total offense. One of Boyd’s touchdown passes was a 35-yard strike to Hopkins, who had a school-record 197 receiving yards one week earlier vs. Boston College.

Boyd also rushed for a touchdown and caught a 2-point conversion pass from running back Andre Ellington.  Georgia Tech quarterback Tevin Washington ran for 104 yards on 16 carries and completed 9 of 14 passes for 144 yards for the Yellow Jackets.
