Steve Donahue and his Boston College Eagles received their first commitment for 2013 with the decision of 6-6 small forward Garland Owens from Woodstock, VA Massanutten Military), according to multiple sources.

“I chose Boston College because of the coaching staff,” Garland Owens said. “They really made me feel at home and they really made me feel like a part of the program.”

He was stellar this summer at the Hoop Group Jamfests according to our own Chris Lawlor who watched him on a couple occasions.

“He is an explosive athlete who can really get out and go in transition. He has ball skills to crete his own shot and is a solid shooter in the mid-range.”

Owens chose the Boston College Eagles over Seton Hall, but had early offers from Drexel, Delaware, Hartford, Iona, UNC-Greensboro and UTEP.
